If you think chess is only about matches played on a board, Chessformer will surprise you. This is a puzzle arcade game where every move is restricted by the chess piece you’re given. The mission is clear: use each piece’s unique ability to make your way through obstacles and reach the king.

Basic Gameplay

The movement rules in Chessformer follow the familiar principles of chess: rooks move in straight lines, bishops move diagonally, knights jump in an L-shape, and so on. The twist is that the game takes place on a 2D grid with gravity. That means whenever you move a piece upward, it will fall back down, creating unexpected and challenging situations.

At first, the game introduces you to some simple levels to help you get used to the mechanics. But very quickly, the difficulty ramps up. You’ll need to think creatively and plan carefully to figure out the correct path. Sometimes, just one wrong move will force you to restart the entire level.
