Introduction to the Game Tetris
Tetris is a very popular puzzle game that originated in the 1980s. If you don’t know how to play yet, now is a great time to start — read on.
How to Play Tetris
Choose Your Game Mode
Tetris offers three modes: Classic, Adventure, and Puzzle. The mode you choose determines how fast the tetromino blocks fall. Higher modes mean faster speed — and more challenge for you.
Move the Tetromino Blocks
You can move the blocks left or right and rotate them clockwise (↑ key) or counterclockwise. You can also speed up their fall using the ↓ key.
Different Types of Tetrominos
There are seven types of tetromino: I, O, L, J, S, Z, and T. Each has its own shape and fits into the stack differently.
Clear Lines to Earn Points and Level Up
When you completely fill a horizontal line, it disappears and you earn points. The more lines you clear at once, the higher your score. Clearing four lines at once is called a Tetris.
Check the Upcoming Pieces and Plan Ahead
You can see which tetromino is coming next. Try to plan your moves based on that. The more you play, the easier it becomes — no need to rush.
